Students from Sampoerna University’s Management Cohort 2023 proudly represented Indonesia at the 2026 HSBC/HKU Business Case Challenge, held in Hong Kong from June 1–5, 2026.
The opportunity came after the team was named Grand Champion of the HSBC Indonesia Business Case Competition 2026, earning them the chance to compete on the international stage alongside 24 teams representing universities from around 20 countries.
Organized by The University of Hong Kong, HKU Business School, and the Asia Case Research Centre, the competition challenged participants to analyze real-world business cases and present strategic solutions across three rounds, including the Boardroom Challenge and the Final Round.
The Sampoerna University team delivered a strong performance throughout the competition, becoming the Division Winner in the Qualifying Round, receiving the Best Team award for the Introductory Video, and ultimately finishing 5th out of 24 participating teams.
Representing Sampoerna University and Indonesia were Nathanael Aaron Sutedjo, Charlene Audrey Gunawan, Evan Darren Gunawan, and Graciella Putri Magdalena, with Dr. Imelda Suardi serving as their Faculty Coach and Lahmazani Yati as their HSBC Mentor.
Their achievement reflects the students’ ability to apply business knowledge, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a highly competitive international environment. More than a competition, the experience gave the students an opportunity to learn from peers from different countries and bring Indonesia’s perspective to a global business platform.
With this achievement, Sampoerna University continues to provide students with opportunities to take their learning beyond the classroom and compete on the international stage.
