Sampoerna University is not just a campus, but is also a thriving learning community
dedicated to equipping students for academic and professional success. In line with this
philosophy, the university has established the Student Success division to further
demonstrate this commitment.
Student Success is a systematic and proactive approach by Sampoerna University to support
students academically during their education journey with us. The supports are designed to
promote a conducive learning environment and systematic process of providing students with
assistance in accessing learning resources, tutoring programs, and study skills development
programs. The interventions include early identification of at-risk students, progress
monitoring, and regular communication and engagement with students.
We are building a learning community that encourage students to take more responsibilities of their learning and success academically. Our tutoring sessions are designed to manage success in taking critical path courses based on students' study program including in mathematics, English, and accounting sequential courses. The foundational courses needed by students to matriculate to University of Arizona especially those with a trend of higher risk of failing are also the top priority to be offered. We also provide tutoring for selected upper division courses. For assistance, go to room 19F 22 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
This service provides support for a student’s mental health and personal wellbeing. It also can help students who are at risk of failing and showing inability to perform in their classes. Counseling sessions are conducted in a private counseling room. Students can request a private counseling session with our school counselor through their Student Portal. The Counseling Office is located on the 19th Floor.
The rationale behind this initiative stems from a recognition that many students arrive at the university level lacking the necessary skills and preparation required to excel in a university setting. The Student Success Unit provides periodical seminars on topics such as time management, study skills, and test taking strategies.
The collaborative approach also engages faculty members to recommend specific students who need particular intervention or support, especially with academic needs to tackle learning difficulties. Regular tutoring sessions will be added and offered to students within the semester to accommodate request by faculty members or instructors. Faculty members should consult the Student Success Office for assistance.
