Programs in FAS ensure that our graduates are well-positioned to compete for jobs in Indonesia and abroad.
    • The FAS curriculum has been co-developed to meet the national requirements (for the S1-Sarjana) as well as American baccalaureate standards. General Education courses and FAS program credits are accepted for transfer by most universities in the U.S. Dual degree programs are also available within Indonesia at SU.
    • All lecturers in FAS hold graduate degrees, well above the national qualifications average at universities. Many of our faculty also have international credentials and experience, providing them with unique, international perspectives that enrich the learning experience for our students.

    • Each class is limited to 30 students. This gives every student the opportunity to be engaged in a more effective learning manner as she/he can have more interactions with classmates and with the lecturer. Small class sizes also provide a supportive environment for the realization of student-centered learning approaches that promote critical and creative thinking.
    • In all FAS programs, the language of instruction is English to prepare students for advanced study abroad and for multinational careers.

    Overview

    The Psychology major at Sampoerna University gives students the opportunity to explore the complex world of the mind and brain—how the mind and brain evolve from infancy to old age, the environmental influences that shape our behavior, and the impact of brain disorders such as autism and Alzheimer’s disease.

    You will gain new insights in areas of cognitive science and cognitive neuroscience, including performance, sensation, perception, language, thinking, decision making, and judgment.

      Psychology Competencies
    • Solve problems based on the development of science, information, and communication technology related to the field of psychology.
    • Carry out psychological assessments by the principles of assessment and psycho- diagnostics as well as the Psychological Code of Ethics.
    • Design, implement, and evaluate a program for problem-solving based on the principles of non-clinical psychology interventions.
    • Conduct research, with quantitative and qualitative methodology, and utilizes research result for the wellbeing of individuals, community, organizations, and society.
    • Work in a team and cooperate constructively to achieve organizational goals.
    • Recommend strategies for improving mental health for individuals, community, organizations, and society, and for recovering from physiological illness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
    • Create a psychological framework to better manage organizations.
