On 18th April 2018, two students and two lecturers from Sampoerna University participated in Annual Applied Science & Engineering Conference (AASEC) that was held in Bandung. As part of the goal, the AASEC aims to invite and bring together scientists, engineers, researchers, students, and civil society organization representatives in the scientific forum to exchange and share their idea in the conference. The theme this year is “Ideas for Sustainable Green Energy”. However, the conference itself also welcomes other fields of science and engineering such as mathematics, physics, and environmental science.
The lecturers from Sampoerna University were represented by Dr. Gagus Ketut Sunnardianto and Tika Endah Lestari, M.Si from the
Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET). Meanwhile, the student representatives from Sampoerna University were Adi Putra Rukmananda and Abdul Fitriyanto both from FET Applied Mathematics. Besides, there was also Dr. Farid Triawan, the Head of Mechanical Engineering Study Program of Sampoerna University who became one of the invited speakers in the conference. His talk was about the importance of incorporating the transdisciplinary approach in order to realize a sustainable green energy in the world.
“Having a chance making a scientific presentation in conference like AASEC was a very valuable experience. It really motivates me to work harder on my research I am doing now at Sampoerna University” said Adi and Abdul after attending the conference.
In this conference, Sampoerna University participated by submitting the following four papers:
- Effect of Charge on Graphene Vacancy for Hydrogen Storage Application by Gagus Ketut Sunnardianto, Intan Ayu Larasati, Farid Triawan, and Ammar M. Aamer of Sampoerna University.
- Single Population Modelling on Predicting Global Carbon Dioxide Concentration by Adi Putra Rukmananda and Christopher Douglas Barenz of Sampoerna University.
- Application of Markov Chain to Stock Trend: A Study of PT HM Sampoerna, Tbk. by Abdul Fitriyanto and Tika Endah Lestari of Sampoerna University.
- Measurement of Pressure Wave Speed in Stainless-steel Pipe filled with Water by Ignatius Pulung Nurprasetio, Bentang Arief Budiman, Muhammad Hafid of Institut Teknologi Bandung and Farid Triawan of Sampoerna University.
