Sampoerna University Produces World-Ready & Work-Ready Graduates

On September 19^th 2019, Sampoerna University conferred 67 bachelor’s degrees to 67 graduates at this year’s graduation ceremony at Sampoerna Strategic Square, Jakarta. As the real evidence of the world-caliber education it offers, some of the brightest graduates of 2019 Class have gained international experiences which helped them to be work-ready and world-ready. These graduates have had various experiences in several international events. For example, Ongki Olan Putra (Management) was the champion of “Youth Environmental Summit 2015” in Singapore. Syifa was named one of the students to represent Indonesia at “Diversity and Inclusion Youth Camp 2017” in Malaysia. Tatag is one of the best Indonesian delegates of YSS-ASEAN in Malaysia (2018). Another graduate named Kaithleen Meiliana (Business Management) was selected as one of the Indonesia delegate members at “ASEAN Young Leadership Program 2018” in Guangxi, China. “Our university will be in the frontline of global changemakers thanks to its world-ready and work-ready graduates. We are proud of the fact that some of our graduates who are sitting today with us have already landed their dream jobs before the graduation day. I am positive that some of you are working at companies you have dreamed of, where you can further your career,” stated Sampoerna University Rector Drs. Wahdi Salasi April Yudhi, M. Dev Admin, Ph. D. in front of the 67 graduates and around 250 guests. Representing Putera Sampoerna Foundation (PSF), Dr. Marshall E. Schott shared his piece of advice with the graduates:” For truly successful people and leaders, education does not stop at the school door. Stay curious and embrace lifelong learning in all its forms, constantly striving for greatness in everything you do.” At this year’s graduation ceremony, there were three (3) graduates chosen as the representatives of three faculties at the university. They were Syifa Sejati, S. Pd. (English Language Education, Faculty of Education), Tatag Adi Sasono , S. Ak. (Accounting, Faculty of Business) and Ni Wayan Wina, S. Ds. (Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Engineering and Technology). The following day (9/20/ 2019), we also conferred Business bachelor's degrees from Oregon State University (OSU) to 30 students of Sampoerna University who enrolled in the two-degree program. This was made possible thanks to our university's partnership with OSU since 2016.
